Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental starting.
2. Place the outboard in neutral and remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase).

6. Remove the old impeller and the drive key from the shaft. Clean any debris from the housing and wear plate.
7. Install the new drive key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft.
8. Rotate the driveshaft in its normal direction of operation (typically clockwise) while pushing down on the impeller to correctly fold the blades inside the housing.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
10. Reassemble the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
11. Secure the lower unit with its mounting bolts.
12. Reconnect the battery, supply water to the engine using flushing muffs, and test run to confirm water is exiting the tell-tale port.
